It’s a terrible moment for anyone to discover a ruined surprise. After someone took so much time, work and planning to do something special for someone they care deeply for, only to turn and see them standing right behind them. They saw everything. They know everything. And then the feelings erupt: nausea, frustration, heartbreak, disappointment, humiliation and more all combined into one painfully numbing feeling that leaves one speechless and standing there like an idiot. There’s no excuse, they can’t think of a good lie to cover it up and all they can do is stand there and babble apologies and try to explain themselves. In some cases, the person they failed to surprise feels very awkward with the surprise ruined and unsure of what to do, making them both feel worse. However, in most cases they feel so happy and grateful that they did all this just to make them happy, all I forgotten and the surprise can be enjoyed. In a sense, surprises lead to more surprises.
